February 2018: Plant Biology Creates Hands-on Learning Opportunities for UGA Undergraduates

Image:

There is only one way to deal with a collection of healthy, overgrown plants: Divide and Conquer 'em! On Divide and Conquer Day, Plant Biology majors worked alongside Ecology, Animal Health, Marketing, and Art majors (to list a few). Volunteers learned how to divide, repot, and rejuvenate more than 150 plants in the Plant Biology Teaching Collection. We had a great time working with such a diverse group of folks, who all share a passion for plants. Thanks to all the great help. We look forward to seeing these happy plants bloom over the coming months! Special thanks to Kevin Tarner and Earl Kang for organizing the event.
