Our Curriculum

Both our PhD and MS programs include mix of classes, teaching, and, most importantly, independent research performed with the guidance of a faculty member. Details of the program requirements can be found in our Graduate Student Handbook. Class offerings within the department reflect the breadth of expertise among our faculty, and span topics from biochemistry, molecular genetics, physiology, evolutionary biology, and ecology. Additional courses are available from a range of departments on campus, including Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Crop and Soil Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, and the Odum School of Ecology.
