Audrey Widmier

Graduate Student
Lab:
Davison Life Sciences B310
Research Interests:

I am interested in the molecular processes underlying plant response to abiotic stresses. Carbohydrate production, storage, and transport across plant organs is an integral process in winter tolerance. My dissertation research investigates winter-biased genes involved in carbohydrate utilization in hybrid poplar by generating CRISPR-Cas9 knockouts and exploring their seasonal phenotypes.

Education:

2022 Admission to Ph.D. program in Department of Plant Biology at University of Georgia

2021 B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Environmental Studies, at Mercer University

Of note:

2021 NSF REPS Internship at Cornell University with Dr. Margaret Frank

Major Professor

C.J. Tsai
