Anna Wyngarden, a PhD student in the DeMarche lab, was a guest on the In Defense of Plants podcast on May 5. Anna is interested in rare and endemic plant species and their habitats, particularly their range limits and responses to climate change.

Michael Boyd was honored for his 25 years of service at the annual staff awards of Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Michael plays an essential role in the Department of Plant Biology where he supports both research and teaching.

Five PhD students were hooded by Plant Biology faculty during the Spring PhD Graduate Ceremony in Stegeman Coliseum on May 9, 2024.

Congratulations to Peggy Brickman, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor in Plant Biology, for being named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Last week, Plant Biology collaborated with the UGA Department of Theater and Film Studies to adorn the lobby of the UGA Fine Arts Theater for the premiere of their production of “Little Shop of Horrors”. The synergy was evident, given the play's theme centered around carnivorous plants.
