Image: Stephanie Pearl is a AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow placed at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) as a science communicator on the communications staff. In this role, Stephanie uses a variety of mediums (such as blogs and twitter) to describe the science that NIFA funds. She also draws from her research background to provide input on other agency products, such as budget documents, impact reports, and infographics. Outside of the office, Stephanie works with other fellows to develop programming on topics such as agriculture and policy, international development, food waste, mentoring, and promoting equity and inclusion in STEM research and education.
