Alumni Update: Katy Martin Rainey (B.S., '98)

Katy Martin Rainey (B.S. in Botany, ‘98) has been chosen to serve as the new director of the Purdue University Soybean Center. Rainey is an associate professor of agronomy, specializing in soybean genetics and plant breeding. She has been a Purdue agriculture faculty member since 2012, and previously worked on the faculty of Virginia Tech. She earned her undergraduate degree in Botany (now Plant Biology) from the University of Georgia and her Ph.D. in plant breeding from Cornell University.
