Image: Congratulations to Derek Denney, a Plant Biology graduate student (PhD candidate) in the Anderson Lab! The highly competitive Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes students for outstanding contributions to teaching beyond their own classroom responsibilities and is the top graduate student teaching award. It is sponsored by the UGA Graduate School and awarded by the Center for Teaching and Learning. Award recipients must have previously been awarded an Outstanding Teaching Assistant award and taught for at least two semesters. Derek has taught for five semesters, including two as co-lecturer for the department’s Plant Taxonomy class. Congratulations, Derek!
