Ella Vardeman, a PBIO undergraduate graduating this Spring, was accepted into the Biology PhD program at the City University of New York! She has accepted the offer and will be working with Dr. Ina Vandebroek (New York Botanical Garden) and Dr. Edward Kennelly (CUNY).

Sarah Saddoris, a third-year PBIO major and PBIO Undergraduate Ambassador, is one of four UGA students to be recognized as a 2019 Barry Goldwater Scholar. This is the highest undergraduate award of its type for the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

Patrick Smallwood, a Plant Biology PhD student, was awarded a $8659 research grant from the American Orchid Society! Way to go, Patrick!

Congratulations to Juan Angulo, a PBIO undergraduate, who has received a summer internship at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This NSF-funded 10-week long internship revolves around a project Juan will be conducting by a grad student and his mentor at Northwestern University.
