Sarah Saddoris, a third-year PBIO major and PBIO Undergraduate Ambassador, is one of four UGA students to be recognized as a 2019 Barry Goldwater Scholar. This is the highest undergraduate award of its type for the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

Patrick Smallwood, a Plant Biology PhD student, was awarded a $8659 research grant from the American Orchid Society! Way to go, Patrick!

Congratulations to Juan Angulo, a PBIO undergraduate, who has received a summer internship at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This NSF-funded 10-week long internship revolves around a project Juan will be conducting by a grad student and his mentor at Northwestern University.

Ella Vardeman, a PBIO undergraduate student who is graduating Spring 2019, was recently accepted into the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies Master's program.

The Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list recognizes world-class researchers selected for their exceptional research performance, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citation for field and year in Web of Science.
