Congratulations to PBIO Professor Katrien Devos for being named a Fellow of the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA). The CSSA chooses their Fellows based on professional achievements and meritorious service.

Gretchen Bowen, PBIO Sr. Accountant, was one of four staff members in all of Franklin College to win the Staff Excellence in Service Award for 2019.

Dr. Jeffery Cannon, who earned his PhD in this department in 2016, has accepted a position as Forest Management Scientist at the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center in southwest Georgia.  Jeff came to UGA after earning his B.S. at Mississippi State University, and a M.S.

Ella Vardeman, a PBIO undergraduate graduating this Spring, was accepted into the Biology PhD program at the City University of New York! She has accepted the offer and will be working with Dr. Ina Vandebroek (New York Botanical Garden) and Dr. Edward Kennelly (CUNY).

Sarah Saddoris, a third-year PBIO major and PBIO Undergraduate Ambassador, is one of four UGA students to be recognized as a 2019 Barry Goldwater Scholar. This is the highest undergraduate award of its type for the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Awesome job, Sarah!
