Patrick Smallwood, a Plant Biology PhD student, was awarded a $8659 research grant from the American Orchid Society! Way to go, Patrick!

Congratulations to Juan Angulo, a PBIO undergraduate, who has received a summer internship at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This NSF-funded 10-week long internship revolves around a project Juan will be conducting by a grad student and his mentor at Northwestern University.

Ella Vardeman, a PBIO undergraduate student who is graduating Spring 2019, was recently accepted into the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies Master's program.

The Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list recognizes world-class researchers selected for their exceptional research performance, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citation for field and year in Web of Science.

Dr. John Burke was recently awarded the title of "Distinguished Research Professor." This title is awarded to faculty who are internationally recognized for their original contributions to knowledge and whose work promises to foster continued creativity in their discipline. Congrats, Dr.
